Rev. Thomas Handrick, Sr.
Of greatest repute is that I am a native TEXAN, having been born and raised in Houston & South Houston. I and my wife Sally (married in 1972 in Monterey, CA while I was in the U.S.Army studying Russian at the Defense Language Institute--West Coast) are both life-long LCMS Lutherans. We have four adult children: Heidi and her husband, Jonathan Breitbarth, and son, Reese (our first grandchild), who reside in Bloomington, MN; SP4 Thomas Jr., who is presently deployed in Afghanistan with the 75th Rangers Regiment; and Timothy, who is a DCE at Family of Christ Lutheran Church & School, Tampa, FL. I graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN and was ordained at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Statesboro, Ga in 1978. I have served the following LCMS congregations: Trinity, Weatherford, TX & St. Mark, Mineral Wells, TX (summer vicarage, 1975); St. John, Meriden, CT (academic vicarage, 1976-1977); St. Paul, Statesboro, GA (sole pastor, 1978-1980); New Hope, Ossian, IN (first "permanent" sole pastor, 1980-1984); St. Paul, Wichita Falls, TX (sole pastor, 1984-2005); and Immanuel, Perryville, MO ([senior/]administrative pastor, 2005-Present). I received almost-exclusively Lutheran education (grade 1-senior year of college and seminary at Springfield & Ft. Wayne) except for the completion of my senior year of college at the University of Maryland--European Division in West Berlin, Germany, where I was serving as a Russian Linguist in the U. S. Army Security Agency, 1972-1974.
