Rev. Alan J. Wollenburg - Concordia Ev. Lutheran Church - Sikeston, MO

"And they laughed at Him." Mark's Gospel reports that, when Jesus said that the little dead girl was NOT dead but only sleeping, that the people laughed at Him. That was because they thought that death was "the great leveler" which trumps everything! Our Lord Christ, the world's Creator and our great Redeemer, knows better. To Him, death might as well be just sleeping because He is the Lord of life! To Him, then, we flee whenever life defeats us! Be blessed this morning as Pastor preaches on Mark 5:21-43 on the theme: "When Life Fails You . . . Jesus!" +

NOTE to Hearers: "Mindy" who is spoken to in the sermon is the 14 year old who was confirmed at the worship service. "Nancy" who is spoken to in the sermon is the brand new widow of one of our elders, her husband Roger having died of a very difficult lung disease just on Friday morning with Christian burial scheduled for tomorrow (Mon.) morning.
